For today's challenge of all pictures, no journaling, I picked up some pages I've meant to finish. We had a neighborhood picnic last June, and I did a one page layout about it for a previous CKC post. But I knew it deserved more than one page, both because I had a lot of pictures and because it was a big event for Crystal.  So several months ago I picked out some divided page protectors, inserted some pictures, and left the 6x12 parts of the pages to finish at a later time.  And here's how I used this challenge to finish those pages.  First, an overview of my four pages:

Loved using my mini-kit this month. I only added cardstock and a few brads and ended up using quite a bit of my kit's contents.  Combined photos here using the PhotoGrid and Pixlr-o-Matic Apps.

And here are some closer pictures of the four 6x12s. Sorry for the goofy colors - I was trying to save time a snap pics with the pages in the protectors, so there's a lot of glare. I love how much orange and green ended up in my kit:

So this page doesn't count - I included a little bit of journaling on this one :).

I have to say, 6x12 horizontal was not the easiest size to work with, especially since I had already printed all the pictures as regular 4x6s. But I was determined to not make more work by reprinting in other sizes or picking different pages, and in the end I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.  And once again, I'm just happy to be done with something!

If you ever find yourself in need of using this 6x12 size, I did find some links to 6x12 sketches:

Just two stops to go on the hop! Next it's Corina and then Lisa. And there's still time to link your own projects to this month's Mr. Linky. Please also watch for the new month of challenges at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog, coming up on April 1st.  Thanks again for stopping, have a great week!

March: I'm Working On It!

I know things have been pretty quiet around here. I just haven't felt particularly scrappy since our return from vacation.  I'M WORKING ON IT!

More than motivation, time has been a stopper for me. I'm a weekend scrapper, and our weekends have been full of other things.
Last weekend I went to Pittsburgh to visit with friends and go to a family baby shower.

But I feel like this weekend is going to be a productive one, so watch for some scrapping updates soon because I'M WORKING ON IT!

Despite my motivation and time issues, I am happy to report that my project life book is caught up, finishing touches included, through the end of November.
Proof! July - November 2012. I maybe still have enough room to add my December semi-daily pages - we'll see.  I'm going to try to end up with just 2 books for the year (from July 12 to June 13).

I haven't posted about it since earlier this year, but I've been picking at that project for the past few weeks. So even though I didn't say so here, I WAS WORKING ON IT!
My small format doesn't allow for a ton of product or technique - but I'm finding it is a perfect way to use stickers! It's a great way to add journaling or titles right onto the pictures.
And packaging.....I've recycled several pieces of packaging, either to use as a base for journaling or just as decoration for part of a story when I don't have a picture. It's great to have ways to not only save but also use these little leftovers.
Next weekend I'm spending part of Friday and all day Saturday at the Memories Scrapbooking Expo here in Columbus. I'm using Friday as my shopping afternoon and Saturday as a full day of crop time.  I have my December Daily kit and my March kit all packed and ready to go; My hope is that I can leave the weekend with either a completed December Daily or a completely up-to-date project life, whichever strikes my fancy that day. One way or another, I WILL BE WORKING ON IT!

WalGreens 50% Off Photos

Let's start the day with some good news!  I ordered some photos over the weekend and noticed that WalGreens has a 50% off photo processing code right now: FIFTYOFFPICS.  It works for collages, too, so I loaded up on prints for scrapping this month.  It looks like the code is good through SaturdayHope someone else can use that deal to your advantage!

In other news, I am rapidly getting tired of this sort of scene.......

Besides the snow, do you know what I see?  Hundreds of dollars of dog classes and STILL this is how he walks!
Rapidly.

Please let this be the last blast and bring on the rain and the flowers and the green grass.......

Counterfeit Kit Challenge: Mini (Card?) Kit

Welcome March!

Looking for a Counterfeit Kit? Well, you're in the right place.  If you've been hopping through the Master Forger kits today, you've reached the end of the line.  As you've probably seen, our inspiration kit for this month is a kit from Noel Mignon.

And for my own kit, I used some of the color inspiration and made a mini kit:
Back in mid-February, right before our vacation, I put together this kit for March.  As I looked at all the great stuff in the inspiration kit, I started pulling lots of things from my stash. But at some point I realized that I needed to seriously reign it in.  I still had/have my full February kit to tackle (mostly planned that way; I knew I didn't have much scrapping time in February), and I can't forget that gigantic November kit that's waiting for my attention for my December Daily project.  Throw in the other dozen projects I want to tackle, and I just didn't need another big kit right now.

So I started over, this time focusing on a few packs of embellishments and just a 6x6 pad of paper.  I love the happy oranges and yellows, and I already did a page with some of the kit contents. I may use the rest of the kit for some project life catch up, a couple of regular pages, or maybe even some cards.  Something obtainable.  We'll see how the month goes!
